The Labs

A consortium of 5 labs

The MACIV project is coordinated by ISTerre, a joint research lab of CNRS, University Grenoble Alpes, University Savoie Mont Blanc, IRD and University Gustave Eiffel. ISTerre is one of the main labs of Grenoble Observatory (OSUG).



The four other labs that participate in the MACIV project are :

  • Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans (LMV), a joint research lab of University Clermont-Auvergne (UCA), Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, UMR 6524), and Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, UMR 163). LMV is one of the two laboratories of the Observatoire de Physique du Globe de Clermont-Ferrand (OPGC).
  • Géosciences Environnement Toulouse (GET), a joint research lab of CNRS, IRD, University Toulouse 3 and CNES. GET is a multi- and interdisciplinary research lab in Earth and Environmental Sciences attached to the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory (OSU OMP).
  • L’Institut de Recherche en Astrophysique et Planétologie (IRAP), is a joint research lab (UMR 5277) of Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), University Paul Sabatier – Toulouse III (UT3-PS), and Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES). IRAP is also attached to the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory(OMP).
  • L’Institut Terre et environnement de Strasbourg (ITES), is a joint lab of CNRS, University of Strasbourg and ENGEES.
