Broadband temporary array

Network XP_2023 Scientific goal : imaging of the crust and upper mantle (to a depth of 600-700 km) beneath the Massif Central, with deca-km resolution. 35 broadband stations (blue stars on the map) covering the whole of the Massif Central, to fill in the areas not (or poorly) covered by the permanent FR, G & RD networks (green circles on the map). Homogeneous coverage of the entire Massif, with a distance between stations of around 35 km. Instruments : T120QA and STS-2 broadband (…)

Profiles

Network XF_2024, Paul et al. 2022). 65 medium-band stations on 3 profiles (red diamonds on the map) : North-South profile (or NNE-SSW, station code MNxx) : 425 km long, 36 stations across the main Variscan sutures and blocks, and along the main volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys. East-West profile (station code MExx) : 360 km long, 35 instruments across the main Variscan nappes along a profile perpendicular to the Argentat detachment, the Sillon Houiller, the Chaîne des Puys and the Limagne (…)

Nodal arrays

Main goal : in combination with profiles, detailed imaging of the upper crust and volcanic systems of the Chaîne des Puys, Monts-Dore and Sancy volcanic regions (down to 15-20 km depth). 625 nodes in 3 dense networks (grey and black dots on the map) a medium-density network (inter-station distance 7 km) covering the entire study region, Chaîne des Puys, Cézallier-Monts Dore and Limagne fault (black dots). two denser networks (inter-station distances of 1.5 to 2 km) on the Chaîne des Puys (…)
