The MACIV team is starting to prepare for the MACIV-nodes experiment in October 2025. 625 short-period, 3-component sensors will be deployed on 3 dense networks around the Chaîne des Puys and the Monts-Dore massif between 15 September and 15 November 2025.

The installation of the three profiles is now completed ! The North-South profile includes 30 stations, from MN01A (Azy-le-vif, 58) to MN30A (Comigne, 81), over a distance of 420 km. The East-West profile includes 26 stations, from ME01A (Rivières, 16) to ME26A (Chozeau, 38), over a length of 380 km. The diagonal profile includes 9 stations, from MD01A (Bourg-Lastic, 63) to MD05A (Chilhac, 43), over a length of 270 km.

10 July, 2024

From 10 to 14 June 2024, 10 people from ISTerre (Grenoble) and LMV (Clermont-Ferrand) have installed 25 seismological stations along the north-south, east-west and diagonal profiles of the MACIV experiment.
Four additional stations have been installed between 1 and 3 July, 2024, including station XF.MN08A on the summit of Puy de Dôme.
The next installation phase (24 stations) is planned in the week of Sep. 30, 2024.

26-28 March 2024 : Workshop G3FMC : Geophysical, geochemical, and geological studies of the French Massif Central : from Variscan orogeny to modern intra-plate volcanism
This 3-days workshop is organized in the framework of ANR projects MACIV and GERESFAULT and PEPR "Sous-sol, bien commun" (priority research programs and equipment).
Location : LMV, Campus universitaire des Cezeaux, 6 Av. Blaise Pascal, 63170 Aubière.

This last station is FR11A, installed in Pommiers-en-Forez (42).
